Old Town White Coffee With Video

It is ironic that despite having some outlets here in Singapore, that we only finally got to visit an Old Town White Coffee outlet in Kuala Lumpur during one of our lunch breaks there.

This particular outlet is situated in the heart of Central Market, and every Old Town White Coffee outlet has that old kopitiam charm about it, albeit in air conditioned surroundings.

They serve very classic Malaysian dishes and drinks, and is especially known for their fragrant coffee. Despite that, we both had cups of tea instead.

White Milk Tea and Xi Mut Tea

Both the xi mut tea and the white milk tea did taste significantly different from the regular milk tea we have here, most notably they were less sweet than normal. Despite that, the white milk tea had a smooth and nice creamy texture and aroma about it.

Ipoh Lum Mee

Pauline had the Ipoh lum mee, which was essentially like noodles with a seafood broth made up of prawns and fishcakes, served with some char siew on top. The fish cakes were somewhat hard though, but everything else was flavorsome and nicely sweet. She did enjoy it with the exception for the fishcakes.

Chicken Ipoh Hor Fun

Unlike our Ipoh hor fun here, the chicken Ipoh hor fun was actually soup based and was really quite tasty this way. Served with slices of chicken and prawns, the bowl was also scented with spring onions which gave the entire dish a nice kick. The broth was aromatic and sweet.

For those who crave for some Malaysian fare, luckily Old Town White Coffee is also available here, most notably in Toa Payoh Central just above KFC. In Malaysia, especially Kuala Lumpur, Old Town White Coffee is present almost everywhere.
